This weekend Emily, Leo (our dog) and I headed out to the Columbia Gorge with our friend Eric. The plan was to fly the Mavic Pro to get some unique aerial footage from the top of Tom McCall viewpoint above Rowena Crest, just west of The Dalles, OR. When we got there the wind was so strong we could barely open the car doors so there would be no flying. Heck, it was hard enough to even walk. As a further kick in the pants after driving an hour and half the trail was closed for rehabilitation just short of the viewpoint. We did see a bunch of fresh spring flowers getting blasted in the high winds and I was able to capture this photo of the historic highway winding it’s way through the volcanic cliffs of the Columbia River Gorge.
