Whenever I venture into the outdoors I always acquire both imagery and video at the highest resolutoin that my devices allow. For my drones this means 4K UHD Resolutoin at 30fps for my Mavic Pro and 60fps for my Phantom 4 Pro. Unfortunately, the Phantom 4 Pro is too big to carry with me on adventures so I bring my Nalgene-size Mavic Pro instead. Recently, I’ve discovered the ability to pull frames from the 4K orbits of several climbs I’ve been on this year. This is essentially pulling 8 megapixel stills from the 4k video and using them to create a 3D model. Below is the Southeast Face of Mount Hood as well as Iron Mountain from Tombstone Pass.
